The band posted a video of frontman Josh Homme failing a lie detector test, where they unveiled the title of the new album and played a snippet of the track “Feet Don’t Fail Me.” The upcoming album from the stoner rock legends will feature super-producer Mark Ronson behind the boards, who has worked Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, and Adele.
In a press release from the band, Homme said the title of the album has nothing to do with politics or current events, rather humanity's constant need to pinpoint a villain in any situation. “The title Villains isn’t a political statement. It has nothing to do with Trump or any of that s**t," he said. "It’s simply 1) a word that looks fantastic and 2) a comment on the three versions of every scenario: yours, mine and what actually happened… Everyone needs someone or something to rail against—their villain—same as it ever was. You can't control that. The only thing you can really control is when you let go."
QOTSA will also embark on a 23-date North American tour behind the new album. English rockers Royal Blood will join them for 20 of the dates. Check out the Villains cover, tracklist, and their upcoming tour dates below.
