Stone Temple Pilots back in the Fine State of Nebraska tonight, and for the first time the band will be fronted by Jeff Gutt! So let's get this out of the way, Jeff will never fill Scott Weiland's boots, but he doesn't have to! You can't replicate what was done in the 90's with those incredible songs, you can't, but you can perform them exceptionally well, and contribute to the other 3 minds that made up this band in a way that makes the concert experience natural, and still f'ing awesome! I'm not one to say, STP can't continue on without Scott, or Chester, and either are you. The only people on this planet that have that power is Robert and Dean DeLeo, and Eric Kretz. Jeff is the guy they want to continue this journey with, and they seemed pretty f'ing excited to do so! For that reason, I am f'ing stoked that they'll be in Lincoln tonight playing to a sold out crowd at The Bourbon Theater!
Last time I checked, there's still some tickets available through Stubhub. Press Your Luck HERE!
The new tunes are solid, and Jeff has done a great job bringing them old ones back to life in his own Weilandy way. Here's the Guys doin' "Plush" Damn Good!
I'm gonna have some fun tonight, but not too much! The drive back from Lincoln is a SOB, and I will put together a concert review from by experience at the show tonight! SO here's Three Songs I MUST hear tonight....
1. Vasoline
2. Meat Plow
3. Lounge Fly
And if they played "Adhesive" that'd be purdy cool too!
