Popular Snack Recalled In Nebraska Poses 'Life-Threatening' Health Risk

Lifestyle Evolution Inc recalled "select lots of NuGo Dark Chocolate Chip and Dark Chocolate Pretzel nutrition bars" sold in Nebraska, on January 10th due to the undeclared presence of a common allergen.

According to the United States Food & Drug Administration, the recalled products, distributed nationwide, "may contain undeclared milk" which poses the risk of a "serious or life-threatening allergic reaction" to individuals allergic to the ingredient, not listed on the product labels.

Consumers should avoid NuGo Dark Chocolate Chip and Dark Chocolate Pretzel nutrition bars with item numbers 6 91535 52102, 6 91535 52902, and 6 91535 52004.

So far, there have been 11 allergic reactions reported as a result of consuming the mislabeled NuGo Dark Chocolate Chip and Dark Chocolate Pretzel nutrition bars.

Officials are urging consumers who have already purchased a recalled box of the mislabeled NuGo Dark Chocolate Chip and/or Dark Chocolate Pretzel nutrition bars to return the product to the place it was purchase for a full refund and to avoid consumption.
